Hoffenheim patron Dietmar Hopp has launched a scathing attack on the performances of the club's squad.
Midfielder Sejad Salihovic on Tuesday voiced his concerns and now Hopp, who is one of Hoffenheim's major investors, has also aired doubts.
The Bundesliga club currently sit eighth in the table, but they have won just once in their last 10 league games to add pressure on manager Holger Stanislawski.
Hopp told Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung newspaper: "I am asking myself if the players are focused on the job. Or what is going on in their minds.
"Are they lacking fitness? It is difficult to see a clear idea regarding our way of playing.
"When Ralf Rangnick was in charge, you could see he was out to force a pressing game."
Responsibility
Hopp added: "Our budget is the budget of a solid club in the middle of this league. We did not just lose players. We also signed new ones.
"Everyone was aware what would be on the cards - that Chinedu Obasi and Vedad Ibisevic would leave (in the winter).
"You could imagine that back in the summer and you should be very much able to prepare yourself for that."
Hopp has also indicated he could begin to have more of a say in transfers in order to bring about perceived improvements.
He told the Hoffenheim's official website: "I do not formally have a responsibility, but I have in fact neglected the responsibility.
"I should have taken care of that, because in the very end it was my money that got spent."
