Hoffenheim are not planning to sign a replacement for Boris Vukcevic, despite the forward requiring another operation on his leg injury.
The Germany Under-21 forward suffered a premature end to the season after fracturing his fibula in April and he had to undergo surgery.
It was hoped Vukcevic would have finished his rehabilitation in time for the new campaign, but he has suffered a setback and again needs to go under the knife.
He is unlikely to be fit until the second half of 2011/12 and Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner has admitted his disappointment, but is not planning on transfer activity.

Tanner told Hoffenheim's official website: "It did not turn out like we hoped for Boris Vukcevic.
"Usually this (the injury) is not too complicated and will be good in a period of time.
"Unfortunately this was not the case here and he will be out for longer than we first thought."
Tanner added: "This injury news does not have an influence on us planning the season. We are not to buy further players due to this incident."
