Reported Mainz, Cologne and Hamburg target Pirmin Schwegler would like to stay in the Bundesliga.

But relegated Frankfurt are not prepared to sell Swiss international

Reported Mainz, Cologne and Hamburg target Pirmin Schwegler would like to stay in the Bundesliga. The Switzerland midfielder was relegated with Eintracht Frankfurt last season and his future has consequently become the subject of speculation. Schwegler is under contract with Frankfurt until next summer, but Mainz, Cologne and Hamburg are rumoured to be preparing bids. The 24-year-old acknowledges that his future is in the hands of his current club, however, his preference would be to stay in the German top flight. Schwegler said: "I am still wearing the jersey of Eintracht Frankfurt, but no-one knows what will be on the cards tomorrow.

Decision

"Football is a fast moving business. I am contracted to Eintracht Frankfurt and I am therefore not free to choose. "It's the club that decides. I am able to deal with that. (But) It's a fact I would like to remain in the top division as this has to be the goal of any good player." But Frankfurt manager Armin Veh has made it clear that he has no plans to sell the former Bayer Leverkusen youngster. He told kicker-Sportmagazin: "Pirmin Schwegler will definitely remain at Eintracht Frankfurt, simply because we are not going to hand him a transfer. "It's my decision that he is staying on and, as I am staying, he will remain here. That is a fact."
