Turkish forward Tuncay has completed his move from Stoke to Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg.
The 29-year-old was in Germany to undergo a medical over the weekend and has now put the finishing touches to a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis revealed on Sunday that Wolfsburg had made their move and that a deal was imminent.
An agreement has now been thrashed out and Tuncay is on his way out of English football after four years.
He arrived at Middlesbrough in 2007, taking in two seasons in the North East before linking up with Stoke.
Fee
That deal was worth around £5million and it is understood that a similar fee has changed hands to take him to Germany.
Tuncay now links up with Steve McClaren, with the Wolfsburg boss having been in the market for a striker since selling the prolific Edin Dzeko to Manchester City.
In an effort to fill that void, McClaren has also snapped up Patrick Helmes from Bayer Leverkusen.
It is understood that the deal for the Germany international has cost Wolfsburg around €8million (£6.9m).
"Patrick transfers to Wolfsburg effective immediately," Leverkusen said in a statement on Monday before adding the player had signed a contract until 2014 with his new club.
