Slovenian star waits for offer from bigger club

Slovenian star Milivoje Novakovic has rejected a move to Portsmouth as he waits for an offer from a bigger club. The Cologne striker is attracting attention after helping Slovenia reach the World Cup finals with victory over Russia, as well as his performances in the Bundesliga. Speculation has also intensified that he could be on the move after he was stripped of the Cologne captaincy after he showed reluctance to return to the club following international duty. As well as Portsmouth, Lokomotiv Moscow are also thought to be interested in the player but his agent Mihael Stankovic says they are waiting on offers from bigger clubs.

Interested

Stankovic told Nogomania.com: "I don't know a lot about Russian offers and Portsmouth is also not the club we are interested in. "But yes, it is true, something was happening on this relation (Portsmouth) but nothing happened. "We are only interested in the biggest clubs in England and Germany. "But I can tell you for sure that Novakovic will not be moving in the January transfer window.
Feeling good
"He is feeling good in Cologne - he is almost a legend there and there are not many chances that board would let him go in the middle of the season. "But of course, at the end of the season, if he has a good World Cup, the move would be very likely. "Even in the last transfer window clubs were offering eight million euros for him. "He is a complete player, clubs now what he is offering, there are not many fears that he is not good enough."
