Slovakian defender leaves the Hawthorns

West Brom have revealed that Marek Cech has been sold to Turkish outfit Trabzonspor for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old leaves the Hawthorns after three years, during which time he made 80 appearances for the club. The Slovakian lost his place in the Baggies side last season to Nicky Shorey and has made just one appearance this term. He is keen to find regular first-team football and feels the time is right to move on. Cech is currently away on international duty but was given permission to fly to Turkey to complete a move. He becomes the second West Brom player to move to the Turkish top flight this summer, with England international keeper Scott Carson having linked up with Bursaspor.
