Bologna have won the race to sign midfielder Alessandro Diamanti.

Midfielder moves as part of a co-ownership deal

Bologna have won the race to sign midfielder Alessandro Diamanti. The 28-year-old, who won his only Italy cap last year, has been linked with a number of clubs after he was relegated with Brescia last season. Serie A rivals Sampdoria and Fiorentina had both reportedly been keen on the former West Ham player, but Bologna confirmed his signature this evening. "Bologna FC 1909 is able to communicate that we have reached an agreement with Brescia Calcio for the transfer of Alessandro Diamanti on a co-ownership deal," read a statement on the club's official website. Diamanti played 28 games for West Ham between 2009 and 2010, scoring seven goals in the process.
