Torino have played down talk that they could make a move for Manchester City forward Rolando Bianchi.
The Serie A outfit have struggled for goals this season and are believed to be in the market for striking reinforcements.
Bianchi has been mentioned as a possible target for Torino as he has struggled to establish himself at City since his summer arrival from Reggina.
Shakhtar Donetsk's Cristiano Lucarelli has also been linked with Torino with the Italian thought to be keen a return to his homeland.
Torino president Urbano Cairo is not optimistic of the club's chances of signing either Bianchi or Lucarelli.
"We are waiting to see if we can sign a player that will cover one of the weaknesses this team has," said Cairo.
"There is the possibility of strengthening our attacking line but Lucarelli and Bianchi will involve extremely complex negotiations and we don't want to mislead our fans."
Fitness boost
Meanwhile, City striker Valeri Bojinov is ahead of schedule as he recovers from ruptured knee ligaments.
Bojinov has been sidelined since August with the serious knee injury, but City boss Sven Goran Eriksson says the Bulgarian international is set to return to training later this month.
"He is taking part in training but cannot have the contact yet," said Eriksson.
"He will be able to join in full training about January 20 - and that is one month ahead of what we thought.
"It is like having a new signing. He is quick, very strong, explosive with good technique and I can promise you a very hungry footballer.
"He wants to be successful at Manchester City. He has been working very hard to get back."
