Cameroon goalkeeper Carlos Kameni could stay with Espanyol despite talks with Italian side Roma.
Kameni had been granted permission by Espanyol to speak to the Giallorossi but a move has not materialised so far.
The 27-year-old was linked with Premier League outfit Fulham earlier in the summer and is valued at approximately €5million.
A statement from Espanyol read: "Carlos Kameni will have to report to Espanyol in the next few hours after the failure to reach a definite agreement with AS Roma for his transfer.
"Hence, if in the next few hours there are no new developments, Kameni will have to undergo a medical with Espanyol and join the first team in pre-season training in Peralada."
Roma have yet to acquire a replacement for Brazilian goalkeeper Alexander Doni, who joined Liverpool last week.
