Former Hamilton striker set to make his SPL debut against Celtic

St Mirren's new signing Dougie Imrie has admitted he is raring to go after he completed his £35,000 move from Hamilton. The 28-year-old passed his medical on Thursday and will go straight into their squad for their game against Celtic at St Mirren Park on Saturday. Imrie is looking forward to proving he can be successful in the Scottish Premier League after his move from the First Division outfit. "Everyone wants to be in the SPL and I'm no different," he said. "I'm hoping to get off to a good start against Celtic." Buddies manager Danny Lennon is confident his new striker will add a new dimension to their attack. "I am absolutely delighted," he said. "He is a player that I have always admired. "I must thank the board for allowing us to do that and Dougie will certainly improve us."
