Antoine-Curier hoping for chance to work with Reid again

Hamilton Academical are hoping to re-sign Mickael Antoine-Curier and beat off competition from rival SPL clubs. Antoine-Curier scored seven goals in 26 SPL games during a loan spell at Hamilton last season and is now a free agent after being released by Dundee in October. The striker has recently been training with Hamilton and hopes to agree a deal after also attracting interest from Inverness and St Johnstone. "I like Hamilton a lot and respect Billy Reid," said Antoine-Curier in the Daily Record. "I trained with them last week and enjoyed it. There are other clubs interested but we will have further talks this week. I hope to have a medical."

Lyle exit

Meanwhile, Hamilton striker Derek Lyle looks to be on his way out of the club after not being offered a contract extension after returning to fitness from a knee injury. Lyle said: "The thing which I'm most disappointed about is I never really got the chance I was promised. "I was told I would get the chance to prove myself but I only got one start, and that was against Aberdeen on Wednesday. "I've been there for two and a half years and enjoyed it. They gave me a six-month contract to prove myself, which I appreciated, and I feel the best I've felt since coming back. "I've been flying in training and the gaffer said that to me, and I was just thinking about getting myself back in the team. I don't feel I've had a fair crack of the whip."
