Crewe boss Steve Davis has confirmed his interest in bringing out-of-contract striker Danny Hylton to the Alexandra Stadium.

The Aldershot frontman has expressed a desire to remain in the Football League following his side's relegation and is reportedly attracting interest from a handful of other clubs. Alex boss Davis knows he will face tough competition for the 24-year-old's signature, who scored 12 goals last term in all competitions, but is confident Crewe's reputation in developing young players may help sway the player's decision. "Danny is a player we have looked at. He has been linked with other clubs as well so we know we face competition," the former Nantwich boss told crewealex.net. "He would be a great asset because he has a lot of strengths and we believe he would improve if he did come here. "Crewe is a coaching club and players do improve here, as the ones we signed last season have shown."
