Shots new boy pledges hard work

New Aldershot signing Luke Medley has pledged to work hard and earn his place in Dean Holdsworth's side.

Medley has penned an initial month-long loan from Mansfield - where he played under Holdsworth's brother David - and made his debut as a late substitute against Gillingham in midweek. He said: "I have scored six times for Mansfield this season coming off the bench and I did like it there but it was time to move on. "I had a good relationship with David Holdsworth when he was manager and I have played against Dean a few times when he was at Newport County. "Aldershot have done well since gaining promotion to the Football League and the aim for me is to get on the pitch, do well for the team and help it progress. "I have plenty of energy and I know that you have to earn your place. I want to work hard in training and it is important what you do away from the club too. I am ready to go and I will just get my head down and show the manager and fans what I can do."
