Tisdale curses soft opener

Image: Paul Tisdale: None too pleased

Paul Tisdale was left cursing a soft opening goal as Exeter lost without scoring at Bury for the fifth time in their last six visits.

The Shakers took a deserved lead as Chris Hussey's 25-yard free-kick took a deflection and goalkeeper Artur Krysiak was unable to stop it going into the bottom corner. City captain Danny Coles was booked for giving away the free-kick and was shown a second yellow card for another foul just five minutes later. Tom Soares then sealed victory late on to make it back-to-back losses for Tisdale's men. "We had a tough first 20 minutes," said City manager Paul Tisdale. "They played particularly well and we hung on, but that crystallised our thoughts that we'd have to defend. "We did that increasingly better as the game went on, they put us under a lot of pressure, yet ironically the goal comes from something quite soft. To concede a goal like that again, we came off very disappointed. "The players worked very hard, they were very committed, and at 0-0 I could see us having the opportunity to break away. "We did have one chance which came from exactly that sort of play but unfortunately we couldn't take it."
