Exeter boss Paul Tisdale was relieved after his side ended a near two-month wait for a home win by beating Wimbledon 2-0.

And John O'Flynn wrapped up the points with Exeter's second after being set up by Scot Bennett. Not since a 3-2 win over Wycombe on September 18 had City won at home and the victory was only their second in 10 league and cup matches. "It has been a long time coming," Tisdale said. "It was all about the win, the performance was secondary. It wasn't perfect, but it was satisfying to say the least. "We started the game with a bit of energy and we put them under pressure. We defended from the front and we had some life about us, not that we haven't recently. "Going into the game nothing was mentioned about the way we were going to play, it was about how we conducted ourselves defensively and in open play. It was all about the basics of the game and we were led superbly by John O'Flynn, who defended from the front and deserved his goal."
