Doherty: Signed for Exeter
Exeter City have expressed their delight after signing midfielder Tommy Doherty, who brings a wealth of experience to the club.
Doherty, who has won nine caps for Northern Ireland, has excelled at League Two level before - being named in PFA teams of the year in 2007 and 2009.
The 33-year-old began his career with Bristol City, making over 200 appearance for the Robins before playing for QPR and Wycombe, where he lined up against the Grecians on a number of occasions.
Spells at Ferencvaros, Bradford, Newport County and Bath City followed before Exeter boss Paul Tisdale made the diminutive midfield man his latest signing.
"I'm delighted to back in the Football League," Doherty told the club's official website. "I'm really pleased to have been given this opportunity. I've played in the league all my life so I just hope I can continue that now.
"Paul phoned me up and said he'd like to see me and how I was, so I came down here for a bit of training and he gave me a deal - Hopefully I can impress here now."
