Tully enjoys veteran role

Steve Tully is happy to be the experienced head in the Exeter dressing room, insisting he will do all he can to guide the young squad.

At 31, defender Tully is the oldest member of the Grecians' playing staff and is well aware of the role he needs to play as a mentor to the many up-and-coming starlets in the St James' Park set-up. He hopes those youngsters would not think twice about looking to him for advice as they seek to further their careers in Devon. "There's only myself and Colesy (Danny Coles) over 30 so players do look up to us. We've got a really young squad so we have to keep pushing them," Tully told Press Association Sport. "Everyone is going to go through a bad patch but we have people here to help them through it and it seems to work well. "We've got people around to be there for them and if they don't feel like they can talk to them then I am always available to talk to. I've always been approachable and I'd like to think I can help some of the younger players when it's needed."
