Trio impress Scunthorpe boss

Scunthorpe manager Alan Knill was impressed with all three of his débutantes that starred in the weekend draw at Colchester.

Midfielder Josh Walker was signed, initially on loan, on Friday in time to make his first appearance alongside fellow right-back Christian Ribeiro, on loan from Bristol City, and striker Connor Jennings, a permanent signing from Stalybridge Celtic. Knill told the club's official website: "Josh is a good player and fits in well in there. We lost [Manchester United loanee] Oliver Norwood, but we have Josh, who is a bit more streetwise and very good on the ball. "Christian was steady and we all know what his attributes are and he's only going to get better. "I thought he defended the far post really well. Once he steps on the accelerator, he's quick too. "Then Connor came on and we were delighted. He's been a breath of fresh air since coming through the door. He showed no fear whatsoever and you could see in his performance that he's not fazed at all. He can play in any one of the three positions up top."
