Sercombe in form after injury

Liam Sercombe was surprised by how easily he slotted back into first-team football with Exeter after an eight-week injury lay-off.

Sercombe broke his foot just four games into the new season, missing almost two months as the Grecians struggled with a long line of casualties. But the midfielder returned to play 90 minutes against Bury on Saturday and was amazed by how well he got through a competitive match after such a long absence. "I felt good and I didn't think I would feel as good as I did to be fair," he told the Western Morning News. "The first half was average but I did well second half, getting the ball around and trying to get us going. "Everything is fine with the foot. I took a knock with the keeper and got a dead leg which has kept me out of training, but I hope to be back playing again on Saturday. "I hope I can keep my place but there are a lot of options there for the manager."
