Lambert wishes Askou, Gill and Habergham well for the future

Norwich City have confirmed Jens Berthel Askou, Matt Gill and Sam Habergham will be leaving the club at the end of their contracts. Gill made just four substitute appearances in the Championship this past season and spent time on loan at Peterborough United and Walsall. Danish defender Askou, meanwhile, is set to return to his homeland after featuring just five times en route to Norwich winning promotion to the Premier League. "Matt Gill is away and will be looking for a new club and Jens as well," said Canaries boss Paul Lambert.

Brilliant

"Gilly was brilliant and was a top, top pro. You could put him in the same bracket as Michael Nelson, really he was brilliant for the club and it's a sore one when you tell him because he's the type of lad he is. "He was a great pro, one of the best I've seen and that's the highest compliment I can give him. Those sorts of players are important to have around the place. "Jens as well, he's going back to Denmark and I'm sure he'll make a career for himself. "I'd also like to wish Sam all the best too with his future career."
