Defender unlikely to play again this season

Bristol City defender Jamie McAllister is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a calf injury. McAllister, who has made 36 appearances for City this season, picked up the injury in last weekend's 2-2 draw at home to Championship leaders Newcastle United. The Scot has now been ruled out for between four and six weeks, meaning he is unlikely to return to action this term. "Jamie's absolutely gutted. The scan has shown up further damage to the calf in question," caretaker manager Keith Millen told the club's official website. "You don't want to say that's the end of his season - unless we get into the play-offs maybe - but that is what we are facing. "Jamie wants to play in every game and he's gutted." Millen has moved to fill the hole in his team created by McAllister's injury by signing Gary Sawyer on loan from Plymouth Argyle.
