Tommy Doherty has penned a two-year contract extension to keep him at Wycombe until the summer of 2012.

The midfielder initially joined the club on loan in 2006 before joining permanently in January 2008.

He has been named in the PFA's League Two team of the year twice in the past three seasons and helped Wycombe gain promotion last term.

Peter Taylor is thrilled to have secured the 30-year-old's services on a long-term deal and is looking forward to working him this season.

"Since I joined the club a year ago he's been an important player and he remains so in my future plans," said Taylor.

"I spoke to him at the end of last season and I'm delighted to say he's agreed to sign for a further two years."
