Wycombe hopeful on key pair

Wycombe are hopeful Tommy Mooney and Tommy Doherty will be with them next season.

Mooney's contract at Adams Park expired at the end of last term but Paul Lambert is keen to hold onto the club captain.

Midfielder Doherty spent the second half of last season with Wycombe and a permanent switch is in the pipeline.

Wanderers managing director Steve Hayes is working to tie the key men down but admits there are still some hurdles to overcome.

"Nothing has happened with either of them yet," Hayes told the club's official website.

"Mooney has only just returned from holiday and now Doherty has gone on his summer break.

"With Mooney it's a case of finding time to sit down with him and his agent and taking it from there.

"The situation with Doherty is more complicated because he's still a QPR player and he has a year left on his contract with them."
