Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie earned DR Congo a 1-1 draw against Zambia after netting a second-half equaliser in their opening Africa Cup of Nations Group B match.
The speedy wide man was a constant threat throughout Sunday's game in Ebebiyin and fired home from just inside the area on 66 minutes.
Given Singuluma had put 2012 champions Zambia ahead after only 62 seconds after he hammered home from the edge of the area following a weak punch by DR Congo keeper Robert Kidiaba.
Bolasie had chances for DR Congo as did Dieumerci Mbokani but despite their best effort, DR Congo couldn’t find a winner.
The teams were the first at the Africa Cup to play at the Ebebiyin Stadium, a 5,000-seat ground hastily put together for the continental championship and with no stands behind the goals.
Ebebiyin is one of the venues under especially close scrutiny in the hurried build-up to the Cup of Nations. It is a town of just over 30,000 people, with little football infrastructure.
The 1-1 scoreline has become a common theme in the tournament thus far as Tunisia and Cape Verde produced that result in the day's second game - the third 1-1 draw from four matches in the tournament.
