West Brom are refusing to be rushed into a decision regarding a new first-choice goalkeeper.
Scott Carson was No.1 between the sticks last season but the England international has since completed a move to Turkish outfit Bursaspor.
The Baggies make no secret of their desire to find a replacement and a host of candidates have been linked with a move to the Hawthorns, including Robert Green, Ben Foster, Shay Given and Tomasz Kuszczak.
That desire may have increased last week during the club's American tour when an error by Boaz Myhill allowed San Jose Earthquakes keeper David Bingham to score a 90-yard free-kick.
However, Baggies sporting and technical director Dan Ashworth insists the club is to remain patient and consider all their options before making a move.
"It's no secret we need a goalkeeper. My job is to explore every single opportunity both here and abroad," Ashworth told the
Birmingham Mail.

"Perhaps some people are putting two and two together and getting five, given goalkeepers that are available in the UK.
"Green, Kuszczak, Foster and Shay Given have all been touted as it's their time to move whether it's because their clubs have been relegated, they are free to move or other keepers have come in.
"Yes they are all top keepers but there are plenty out there in Europe.
"We are closer to making a decision but all the sifting of information can take a long period of time, from finding out if clubs are willing to sell, willing to loan, are the players willing to come?
"It's a continual process, that's why transfers can take a long time.
"We need to get the best one we can get."
