Defender will face Ireland despite training worry

Vedran Corluka has been passed fit to face the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, despite suffering an injury in training. The Croatia defender was sent for a scan after suffering the knock on Thursday. But despite being told to rest, manager Slaven Bilic expects him to be in the starting line-up in Poznan. "Vedran felt pain in his hamstring," Bilic told Vecernji list.

Tests

"It didn't look serious but just in case we sent him to Warsaw for further tests. "Luckily everything is okay with him and he will be able to play against Ireland." But Bilic is going to treat the Bayer Leverkusen man carefully in the next few days. He continued: "Just in case, he won't train with the team until Sunday. We don't want to risk anything, but I believe that he will not have any problems at all."
