Croatia Football Association president Vlatko Markovic is being investigated after he was reported as saying he would exclude gay players from the national team.
European football's governing body Uefa is investigating Markovic under rules relating to discrimination and football officials' decent conduct.
Article 11 of its disciplinary code calls for sanctions if someone "insults the human dignity of a person or group of persons" and Uefa says the case will be heard by its disciplinary panel on 25th November.
Markovic played international football for Yugoslavia and coached the Croatia national team before becoming its federation president.
He also serves on Fifa's football committee.
