Former Arsenal striker Eduardo missed a glorious chance for Croatia as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Greece in their Euro 2012 qualifier.

The forward failed to find the target from close range in the fourth minute of added time in Zagreb, while Georgios Samaras went closest for the visitors in the first half.

Georgia held Israel to a 0-0 stalemate in their clash in Tbilisi as Temuri Ketsbaia's side claimed their second successive draw of the campaign.

Latvia claimed their first success in qualifying with a 2-0 victory away to Malta, who are at the foot of the early standings with nothing to show for their efforts.

Kaspars Gorkss opened the scoring three minutes before the interval and Maris Verpakovskis added a second in the 85th minute for the visitors.
