Harry Kewell has agreed to extend his stay with Turkish side Galatasaray by 12 months.
The Australia international had been out of contract and it was believed the 31-year-old could join an A-League side.
Despite speculation over his future he has agreed to stay with the Turkish giants for a third season.
Kewell began his career with Leeds and spent eight seasons with the Whites before a less-than productive spell with Premier League rivals Liverpool.
However, he has rebuilt his career with Galatasaray and featured twice for his country in this summer's World Cup finals.
