Reds host Magpies, tricky trip for Cottagers

Liverpool host Notts County in the Capital One Cup second round on Tuesday looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season. Brendan Rodgers' Reds go into the game - being shown live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 7.30pm - on the back of successive 1-0 Premier League victories over Stoke and Aston Villa. The Magpies - who beat Fleetwood 3-2 in the last round to progress - will be aiming to bounce back after a 1-0 home defeat to Stevenage in League One at the weekend. Hull City picked up their first Premier League win of the season on Saturday but face a tough trip to high-flying Leyton Orient, who top League One with four wins on the bounce. Norwich City, who lost to the Tigers at the weekend, host League Two's Bury looking to post their first win of the campaign. Unbeaten Southampton will be full of confidence heading to Barnsley, who are bottom of the Championship after failing to post a victory in the league this term. Fulham face a tricky trip to League Two's Burton Albion, who will be pumped up for the visit, given it is their first ever home tie in the Capital One Cup since winning promotion to the Football League in 2009.

Tough trip

Premier League Crystal Palace also face a tough trip to League One's Bristol City, where they lost 4-1 last August when both sides were in the Championship. Both West Ham and West Brom enjoy home ties against League Two opposition - Cheltenham Town and Newport County respectively - while Sunderland host League One's MK Dons. There's a tasty Yorkshire derby at the Keepmoat Stadium where Doncaster Rovers welcome fellow Championship outfit Leeds United. There are two more all-Championship ties - Yeovil Town host Birmingham City while Huddersfield take on a Charlton side whose last match against Doncaster was called off at the weekend due to waterlogging when Rovers were 3-0 up. Unbeaten League One high-fliers Peterborough United - who knocked five past Tranmere at the weeked - host a Reading side who will be aiming to bounce back from a 1-0 defeat at Blackpool. League One strugglers Carlisle United, who earned their first point of the campaign at Colchester on Friday, face a stern test from in-form Leicester City, who have enjoyed an unbeaten start to their Championship season. There are four more ties featuring Championship sides taking on League One opposition: in-form QPR host Swindon Town, Burnley and Derby welcome Preston and Brentford respectively, while Tranmere will be looking to bounce back from their Peterborough drubbing with another home tie against Bolton.
