Carling Cup holders Manchester United have been drawn against Wolves in the third round of this year's competition, while neighbours Manchester City will host Fulham.
Last year's runners-up Spurs travel to Preston after thrashing Doncaster in midweek. Everton travel virtually the length of the M62 as they tackle Hull City in East Yorkshire.
League One high-flyers Leeds welcome Liverpool to Elland Road for the first time since February 2004. There is a London derby at Stamford Bridge as QPR visit Chelsea.
Arsene Wenger is likely to have the youngsters out show as Arsenal entertain West Brom at the Emirates, while Bolton host West Ham in an all-Premier League tie.
In-form Sunderland take on Birmingham at the Stadium of Light. North East neighbours Newcastle head south to newly-promoted Peterborough United.
Portsmouth, who brushed aside Hereford in midweek, have a lengthy trip to the North West to play Carlisle. Stoke City will fancy their chances of bumping off Championship outfit Blackpool at the Britannia.
Last year's semi-finalists Burnley travel to Barnsley. Nottingham Forest face Premier League opposition in the shape of Blackburn, while Scunthorpe's game with Port Vale completes the third-round ties.
