Blues to be bruised?

Gerry Armstrong and Steve Archibald gave Sky Sports News their take on Barcelona-Chelsea.

Armstrong and Archibald debate Chelsea's Camp Nou chances

Chelsea will be looking to clinch a place in the Champions League Final tonight when they venture to the Camp Nou to tackle Barcelona. Didier Drogba's strike in the first leg at Stamford Bridge last Wednesday has given the Blues a narrow advantage in their semi-final tie with the Spanish heavyweights. Roberto Di Matteo's charges still face an arduous task to the complete the job on Barcelona's turf, but will no doubt have been buoyed by the Catalans' home La Liga loss to Real Madrid on Saturday evening. So, can the Londoners prevail and book a trip to Munich's Allianz Arena on May 19? That was the topic up for discussion on Sky Sports News this morning as Revista de la Liga pundit Gerry Armstrong and former Barcelona striker Steve Archibald engaged in a live debate over the outcome of the contest. Read on to see why Armstrong thinks Chelsea can knock out the reigning European champions and why Archibald gives the Blues very little hope...

Gerry Armstrong "Barcelona didn't score at Stamford Bridge and found Chelsea difficult opponents; I think they'll find them difficult opponents again tonight. I worry that there is a lack of height in the Barcelona side and that they are suspect from set-pieces. "Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and John Terry will cause a lot of problems from corners and free-kicks. Adriano has come in for Eric Abidal at left-back for Barcelona so only Sergio Busquets is over 6ft. I'm sure Chelsea will have picked up on that. "Chelsea will absorb pressure and hit Barcelona on the break and as we saw against Real Madrid, they were vulnerable on the counter attack. Barcelona will have the majority of possession, but they will need to turn that possession into goals and put one into the back of the net "I don't think the tie is as clear-cut as it was when the draw was made. Barcelona have looked a bit tired in their last two or three games and I think Chelsea have got more of a chance than people are giving them credit for." Steve Archibald "Barcelona have extra incentive here tonight, having been beaten by Real Madrid on Saturday and having not scored in two games. That sticks in their throat a bit, and there is an added bit of determination from them to make it up to the fans and to get themselves back on track. "Possession for Barcelona is going to be exceptional and they are going to have a lot of efforts on goal. The difference between tonight's game and the match at Chelsea is that the pitch is bigger here, and it will be much more difficult for Chelsea to defend as they did in London. "Everything is in Barcelona's favour. It will be very difficult for Chelsea to get out of their own half in numbers and do anything going forward. Chelsea will have to do something with probably around 20 per cent possession and that is no mean feat. "Madrid had something on the counter attack to hurt Barcelona but I don't think Chelsea will have enough of that. They won't get out enough times to damage Barcelona and I think the home fans will go away buzzing. I think Barcelona will win 4-0."
