Former France international considering playing for Creteil

Former Arsenal striker Sylvain Wiltord is considering a return to football with French third division outfit Creteil. The 35-year-old has been without a club since being released by Marseille in the summer. The veteran has been training with Creteil, who are based in the south-eastern suburbs of Paris, since Tuesday and he admits that he could sign before the end of January. Wiltord told RMC: "I'm from the Paris region. I've always said that I'm Parisian by heart and that I am a Paris St Germain fan.

Interesting challenge

"Creteil are doing well in the league. They're vying for promotion to Ligue 2 so it could be an interesting challenge." But reports suggest Creteil's Championnat National rivals Cannes are also pursuing Wiltord. Speculation is rife that, having signed Czech Republic legend Jan Koller, the minnows are also keen on Wiltord, as well as launching an audacious bid to tempt Pavel Nedved out of retirement. While Wiltord admits he has a number of options on the table, he is determined to make the right choice.
Adventure
He added: "I would have loved to return to Arsenal. But, more seriously, I was training at (former club) Rennes so I would have liked to continue my adventure there but they already have a good group. "My agent is receiving a lot of phone calls but nothing comes of them because often they don't interest me. "I'm going to wait to make the right choice and throw myself into it until the end of the season."
