Australia international Joshua Kennedy has joined Nagoya Grampus following Karlsruhe's relegation from the Bundesliga.

Kennedy had been disappointed by his lack of first-team opportunities at Karlsruhe last season and feared for his place in Australia's 2010 World Cup squad.

He has now secured a move to Japan with Nagoya and the towering striker is hoping to make an impact at his new club.

"I want to present a lot of goals to Nagoya supporters," Kennedy told the club's official website.

"I am looking forward to new challenges and experiences at the club."

The 26-year-old joined Karlsruhe from Nurnberg in January 2008, but saw his chances limited last term after falling out with coach Edmund Becker.
