Genoa are not expecting to sign Antonio Cassano from Inter Milan, with the striker seemingly set to join Parma.
Italy international Cassano is already in discussions with Parma, with it expected that he will form part of a deal that will take Ishak Belfodil to Giuseppe Meazza.
It had been suggested that Genoa would attempt to hijack those talks and bring the 30-year-old forward into their ranks.
They have, however, moved to curb those rumours, with club president Enrico Preziosi insisting that he has no intention of moving to the negotiating table.
He said: "It is 99.9 per cent certain that Cassano won't be our player.
"He's a great player. Everyone who loves football would like him in their side, but I don't want to place myself in negotiations which have already been opened and are practically closed.
"I think an agreement between Parma and Inter will be done."
