Fabio Liverani is set to become the new manager of Serie A side Genoa, president Enrico Preziosi has announced.
The former Lazio midfielder had already been working in a coaching capacity with the Italian club's youth team and he will replace Davide Ballardini, who helped Genoa to avoid the drop last season.
Liverani will be taking up his first professional post as a manager and Preziosi believes he has selected the right man for the job.
"Liverani will be the Genoa coach," he revealed to Telenord.
"I have chosen him and I am sure of his capabilities. He has not yet signed, but it's up to him."
