Ligue 1 outfit have no plans to bring Uruguayan back on loan

Dijon coach Patrice Carteron has attempted to curb speculation suggesting he could look to bring Sebastian Ribas back to the club.

The Uruguayan forward enjoyed a standout season with the Ligue 1 outfit in 2010/11, netting 23 goals.

A number of eye-catching displays drew attention from afar and he was snapped up by Genoa over the summer.

The 23-year-old has struggled to settle in Italy, though, and has already found himself out of favour.

A lack of action in Serie A has sparked rumours that Dijon could be tempted to make a loan approach in January.

Carteron admits he remains in regular contact with his former fans' favourite, but insists talk of a short-term deal is unrealistic.

"I like Sebastian a lot and I have regular phone conversations with him," he told L'Equipe.

"But, even if we wanted to bring him back on loan, he left for financial reasons.

"For that reason, I have to deny these rumours."
