Napoli's Ezequiel Lavezzi and Aleandro Rosi of Roma have been banned for three matches for spitting.

Lavezzi and Rosi to miss three games

Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi and Roma defender Aleandro Rosi have both been banned for three matches following an incident of spitting. Edinson Cavani scored twice to seal a 2-0 victory for Napoli in last Saturday's Serie A match but the main talking point was a clash between Lavezzi and Rosi midway through the first half. Both players were booked at the time but the Italian FA still decided to investigate the matter further and review television footage of the scuffle. After seeing that Lavezzi and Rosi spat at each other, the decision was taken that further action was warranted. "The television images show the Roma player nearing the Napoli striker, and in the following action directed a spit which was immediately exchanged," a statement read. "The spit must be considered an action of violent conduct. "The punishment for Rosi and Lavezzi is a three-game ban."
