Roma or nothing for Burdisso

Argentine rules out Juve, who make their move for Quagliarella

Nicolas Burdisso is still holding out for a move to Roma, despite Juventus making a move for his services. The Argentina international has been the subject of a summer-long transfer saga, having seen his future at Inter Milan cast into doubt. He has always maintained that he would welcome the opportunity to re-join Roma, after taking in a productive loan spell in the capital last season. Such a switch is still on the cards, but it is Juventus who have edged to the front of the queue. Burdisso, though, has no desire to join the Turin giants and hopes an agreement can be reached with Roma before the transfer window slams shut. "I've met with Roma sporting director Daniele Prade, who told me they would be making the same offer as Juve," said Burdisso's agent, Fernando Hidalgo. "If that happens, Inter would not be losing out on any money and the player would be free to join Roma. "We would like to thank Juventus for their interest but if the offers are the same, the player is in no doubt as to where he will go. Should a move fail to materialise, he will stay at Inter."

Negotiations

Meanwhile, Juventus have turned their attention to Napoli's Fabio Quagliarella after missing out on Antonio Di Natale. The Italy international's agent met with Juve officials on Thursday and has hinted that a deal could be in the pipeline. "I can't say much, but I am optimistic," said Giuseppe Bozzo. "It's possible that the negotiations will end in a positive way."
