Nerazzurri refuse to budge on Argentina ace's fee
Inter Milan sports director Marco Branca has confirmed the club will not be reducing their asking price for Argentina international Nicolas Burdisso.
The 29-year-old defender spent the 2009/10 Serie A campaign on loan with rivals Roma and impressed enough for the Giallorossi to want a permanent transfer.
Roma have been in talks with Inter over Burdisso and the Nerazzurri say they will not be offering a discount in order to push through the deal after dishing out favourable terms last season.
"His [Burdisso] cost is €10million (£8.2m) and Roma know it," Branca told
La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We won't reduce our asking price because last year we met the Giallorossi halfway in every way possible. And I'm not exaggerating."
Some way off
Burdisso's agent Fernando Hidalgo has confirmed the clubs have held talks over the player's future, although they are still some way from reaching an agreement.
Hidalgo told
Sky Italia: "I know that yesterday there was a meeting between the two directors (of Inter and Roma) who told me things didn't go very well. There is still a gap between supply and demand.
"We want to arrive at a solution as soon as possible because Nicolas is anxious and doesn't know whether he's returning to Milan or Rome.
"If Inter want €10million for Burdisso that's fine. Whether Roma are willing to pay this at the moment is a different matter. We remain positive."
