Midfielder aims for December return after foot operation

Hearts midfielder Bruno Aguiar will not return to action until December after surgery on a foot problem. Aguiar has not played for Hearts this season and has twice undergone an operation on an ankle injury suffered at the end of last term. He has now had surgery to remove a tumour from his foot, although the Portuguese's agent Paulo Barbosa feels there is now light at the end of the tunnel. "Bruno is a strong guy," Barbosa told the Evening News. "He has never had any doubts about his career long term. "He knows he's going to be all right, so I would tell the Hearts fans not to worry. "We think he will be ready in December. His first problems with the ankle are finished, this time it was a foot problem which was something different."

Pinilla almost quit

Meanwhile, Jambos striker Mauricio Pinilla has revealed he almost quit football before receiving treatment for depression in a Spanish clinic. The Chilean told the News of the World: "What I have lived through in the last few months is a hard and very personal experience. "I was in the clinic for virtually all of August and part of September. "I had reached the point where I was ready to explode. I was going to quit football and I could not bear another day in Scotland."
