Palermo suffer Bovo blow

Palermo defender Cesare Bovo will be out for two months after fracturing a metatarsal.

Palermo have been dealt a huge blow following the news that talented defender Cesare Bovo will miss the start of the season with a broken foot.

The 22-year-old was tipped to play a big role for the Italian outfit after an impressive campaign for Roma last term.

However, Bovo is now likely to be out of action for the next two months after fracturing a metatarsal in his foot during training in Bad Kleirkircheim.

The news will be a blow to coach Francesco Guidolin as he begins preparations for a possible UEFA Champions League campaign next season.

"We will have to see whether he needs surgery. We will go to see a specialist to have a further diagnosis and then we will decide what type of care he needs," confirmed club doctor Roberto Matracia.

"They will decide whether he will require surgery or not.

"Anyway, the prediction is that he will be out for about 60 days."
