AC Milan will begin the post-Massimiliano Allegri era when they take on Spezia in Wednesday's Coppa Italia last 16 match.

The Rossoneri ended Allegri's three-and-a-half year reign with the club 30 points behind leaders Juventus after Sunday's humiliating 4-3 loss at Sassuolo.

Assistant coach Mauro Tassotti will take temporary charge of the team as the club begins the search for a permanent replacement.
