Napoli striker Goran Pandev is set to be sidelined for two weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3-0 win over Inter Milan.
The news will come as a relief to the Serie A high-flyers as it had initially been feared that he could be out for a couple of months.
A statement from fourth-placed Napoli read: "Pandev underwent tests that revealed a hamstring strain in his left leg. He is expected to return to training in two weeks' time."
Pandev joined Napoli from Inter over the summer but was not able to make as much of an impact as he would have liked against his former club on Saturday as the injury forced him off early in the second half.
The 28-year-old will miss Napoli's league game against Parma on 15th October and the UEFA Champions League Group A showdown against Bayern Munich in Naples three days later.
However, he could be available for the trip to Cagliari a week later.
