Gilardino focused on Viola

Alberto Gilardino is fully focused on doing well with Fiorentina despite talk linking him with a Liverpool move, insists his agent.

Agent claims striker is concentrating on getting fit for Fiorentina

Striker Alberto Gilardino is fully focused on doing well with Fiorentina despite speculation linking him with a move to Liverpool, insists his agent. The Italy international, contracted with the Viola until 2013, is thought to be on the Reds' radar after scoring nearly 60 goals during his four-year tenure at the Serie A club. But his agent, Beppe Bozzo, insists the 29-year-old hitman, who is currently recovering after fracturing his left tibia in September, is thinking only of making his comeback for Fiorentina. He told calciomercato.it: "Alberto is recovering from injury and currently has only one thought - to do well in the Fiorentina jersey and please the fans with many goals."

Quagliarella

Meanwhile, Bozzo is adamant another of his clients, Juventus frontman Fabio Quagliarella, will stay in Turin. Quagliarella has only made two appearances off the bench this term, prompting speculation he could leave in the winter transfer window. But his agent claims various clubs have made offers for the 28-year-old and been turned down, with the Italian set to remain with Juve. "Fabio will surely stay at Juventus much longer because the club have shown a strong focus in him," added Bozzo. "Of course, there have been a lot of requests for him but I declined each offer. "I'm sure that he will make his contribution. We are talking about a great striker."
