Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has revealed that Marco Amelia is to join Serie A rivals AC Milan. The 28-year-old goalkeeper will initially move to Giuseppe Meazza on a 12-month loan, with Milan then having the option to purchase a 50 per cent stake in his contract next summer. The Rossoneri have been scouring the market for a new shot-stopper after allowing veteran Brazilian Dida to run down his contract. They hope Amelia will be the man to fill the keeping void, having seen him gain considerable experience during spells at Livorno, Palermo and Genoa. "We have already shaken hands," Preziosi told Sky Italia on the deal. "On Monday Amelia will have a medical and on Tuesday he will be a Milan player."

Movement

While Milan have moved to bolster their goalkeeper ranks, they look set to let another shot-stopper head out on loan. Marco Storari, who has spent the vast majority of his three years with Milan away from the club, is believed to be on the verge of joining Juventus. Meanwhile, Genoa are preparing to turn their attention to Chievo's Stefano Sorrentino in an effort to find a suitable replacement for Amelia.
