Argentinians name Ustari price

Independiente have confirmed Barca's interest in goalkeeping starlet Oscar Ustari.

Barcelona are lining up a move for Independiente goalkeeper Oscar Ustari, according to the Argentinian club's vice-president.

The Buenos Aires-born 20-year-old was a surprise inclusion in coach Jose Pekerman's squad at this summer's World Cup.

Prior to that, Ustari had helped guide the country's budding starlets to the World Youth Championship in the Netherlands in 2005.

Barcelona's director of football has met with Independiente's second in command Atilio Di Pace about the shot-stopper and has compared the situation to that of young striker Sergio Aguero, who left the club this summer.

"Everything has a price, like Aguero had his price when Atletico Madrid bought him," Di Pace explained.

"There hasn't been any more contact from Barcelona for Ustari, besides a few days ago when we had an informal meeting with Txiki Beguiristain.

"We are asking for $12 million (£6.5 million) for Ustari. If we are paid that amount of money the player will be transferred.

"Barcelona are in no hurry to have the player in their squad though, so our idea is to keep the player with us until June 2007."
