Bentley to return after illness

Jim Bentley has vowed not to miss another Morecambe game, even though his side beat Luton 3-0 when illness struck him down.

Bentley was absent for the match at The Globe Arena on Saturday but his men did fine without their manager, recording a comprehensive victory over one of the front runners for promotion into League One. The Shrimps boss has allayed concerns that he may miss the next contest as the result of illness and stressed he does not intend to do so in the future either. "I'm okay now," he told the Morecambe Visitor. "It was a 24 or 36-hour type thing. The missus and the kids have had it as well and it seems to be going around at the moment. "It was horrible on Saturday, sitting there not being able to do anything or even watch the game. I won't be doing it again." Bentley confirmed the tactics and team selection were agreed in advance of the day and praised his players for carrying out his instructions to a tee. "It was a great win," he added. "We picked the team a day or two before the game so it was all set up and everyone knew their roles and responsibilities. It was just about the lads going out there and putting it into practice. "We got amongst them early and obviously the sending off helped. "It was really pleasing to score three and get a clean sheet as well. We could have scored even more."
