Kinnear hopes for easy draw

Chris Kinnear is hoping for a straightforward draw after Dover kept their FA Cup dream alive with a 1-0 win over Morecambe.

A Stefan Payne goal on the stroke of half-time was enough for the Vanarama Conference outfit to upset their visitors at the Crabble Ground. "In the next round we want to play the lowest-placed team at home," said Kinnear, whose son - also named Chris - had a hand in the winner. "Morecambe were not the ideal draw this time, but obviously we were happy in the end - but we will see what comes up. "League Two is closer to the Conference now. It isn't that big a shock as we are used to playing teams like Torquay and Bristol Rovers. "I think we deserved the win. Home feels like a fortress at the moment and the fans are good for us, and winning is good for them." Morecambe boss Jim Bentley called the defeat the worst of his long rein. He said: "I'm absolutely gutted; it's the worst since I started as manager. "It is unfortunate to fall at the first hurdle. It is disappointing because in the cup you can go on to play the likes of Everton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea. "It was a typical cup game against a lower-league opponent - a poor pitch, tough conditions and crowd right behind the other team. "We got lots of criticism from the fans when we came off the pitch but all around the country teams' form goes up and down. This is a tough time for us but there are no excuses."
