Morecambe manager Jim Bentley could not hide his relief after their 3-0 win at AFC Wimbledon.

Their first clean sheet since Boxing Day guarantees their League Two status for next season after Wycombe's defeat to Bristol Rovers. The points were secured thanks to goals from Jack Redshaw, Jamie Devitt and a Paddy Amond penalty late on. "It's been a difficult few weeks for us but you have to take the ups and downs in football, these things will only make me a better manager," he said. "We've got learn from this and we have a lot of young lads who will only get better. I believe as a team we will be better next season. "We've been unlucky with injuries but you can't use that as an excuse. "The last three or four weeks have been a nightmare and they've really taken their toll on my whole life. "I've not been nice to live with, but I'm at the head of the ship and every day I've come in and stayed positive. "But I'm already looking forward to next week and seeing if we can match our points total from last season which would be an unbelievable achievement for us. "And I'm looking forward to having a drink at last!"
